The Roland S-F164 film is used for Direct-to-Film (DTF) transfer applications. This premium film is dimensionally stable and will not warp under heat. Use this in conjunction with S-POWDER and S-PG ink for various DTF applications printed on the VersaSTUDIO BN-20D. In addition, the S-F164 film is designed to output vibrant transfers while providing a superior soft feel, great wash resistance, and stretchability.


Create DTF Transfers In Four Easy Steps
With a direct to film workflow, Roland DG's BN-20D Direct-to-Film System improves upon the process by combining tested materials with Roland DG reliability for a system that will consistently generate quality results time after time.

STEP 1

Print to film with the BN-20D and S-PG inks, on S-F164 transfer film.

STEP 2
Apply shaking powder over the ink using S-POWDER. Note: Powder must be applied right after printing on film, and the Ink must be slightly wet.

STEP 3
Melt powder under heat press at recommended time and temperature.

STEP 4
Heat press design to your fabric and remove the film backing.

Roland's premium-quality heat transfer material, HeatSoft PLUS (ESM-HTM3), is a thin yet durable inkjet-printable polyurethane media that images beautifully, stretches outstandingly, and weeds easily. Extremely versatile, HeatSoft PLUS transfer vinyl media makes transferring graphics to a variety of materials quick and easy; it can transfer onto cotton, polyester, poly-blend, spandex/Lycra®, leather and more.



The Roland HeatSoft PLUS (ESM-HTM3) helps produce customized apparel and accessories with a soft hand, vibrant color and exceptional detail. It can withstand up to 50 wash cycles and offers unsurpassed durability. HeatSoft PLUS is easily transferred by lifting the graphic off its backing liner with Roland’s HeatSoft PGM-PTM2 heat transfer mask and applying it to the clothing item or accessory. The transfer mask ensures the dimensional stability of this thin, stretchy media during the heat transfer process. In addition, the HeatSoft Plus heat transfer material is compatible Roland VersaStudio® BN-20A (4-Color) and BN-20 (5-Color), VersaCAMM® SP-i, VersaCAMM® VS-i series and TrueVIS printers.

Storage and Usage
The Roland HeatSoft PLUS (ESM-HTM3) Polyurethane Heat Transfer Material should be handled with care to prevent surface contamination that may affect the printable surface of the product. This polyurethane film should be processed and stored in an environment of 65° -75° (18° - 24° C) and 30 to 50% relative humidity (non-condensing) that is clean, relatively dust-free and away from direct sunlight. It is recommended to store this product in its original packaging in a cool dry area until ready for use. If storage conditions are outside the recommended operating ranges, allow the material to acclimate to the production environment for a least 24 to 48 hours before use.
